Everyone has seen the sticker you can get from OBO – Goalkeepers are Amazing People. They are, they are also different. They are wired a little differently than everyone else. It takes a certain type of person to stand in the goal and have people shell the ball at them at 80+ mph.
It takes a certain type of bravery to throw yourself into the way of a shot or ground yourself at the feet of an oncoming forward. They are different, and therefore we need to train them differently.
