EP Rinkside 3 Stars: Getting down to it

It feels weird to be winding down the Conference Final so quickly.

I’m not one of these “It’s crazy to end the Cup Final in June” guys, and in fact, I actually like hockey so I want it to go on as long as possible. But all those people are getting what they want, to a certain extent. The Conference Finals might be ending tomorrow night? They started a week ago.

And that’s not new. In the last two postseasons, the teams that have lost their series have mostly been obliterated. Carolina out absent a single win, Dallas is hanging on by a fingernail, the Rangers only got two wins out of the Lightning last year, Edmonton got swept by Colorado.

All coincidence, I guess, but it adds up.

Someone told me a stat the other day that blew my mind: The last thr
