From England to Masters, via Soviet subterfuge, the remarkable hockey career of Ruth Hine

From being hit round the head in an act of Soviet Union sabotage at the 1983 World Cup to providing post-match entertainment with her squeeze box, Ruth Hine certainly has a story or two to tell.

Now playing in the O65 England Masters team, Hine has no intention of putting her playing days behind her.

The former England international first picked up a stick at junior school and, encouraged by her mother, fell in love with the game, joining Rugby Ladies at 14.
